Special Dissemination at Government Hospital for Thoracic Medicine (GHTM), Tambaram, Chennai September 7, 2009
How does Art contribute to Anti-AIDS efforts? Answering this question was a day long program at the GHTM (formerly the TB Sanatorium), Tambaram, hosted by the partners of Make Art/Stop Aids (MA/SA) read more about the day long program here >
At this program, New Concept Information Systems from Chennai presented the findings of their in depth evaluation of "Thendral", which they had conducted over 3 months.
The findings were very positive. Those patients who had been exposed to Nalamdana's programs, especially "Thendral" radio showed higher levels of understanding of their status, a more positive attitude, as well as greater adherence to their A.R.T., than those patients who had not received any exposure to Nalamdana's programs. Although it was known that the radio and plays were having a positive effect on the HIV patients, having actual tangible results from an external agencies evaluation, is an additional boost to Nalamdana's achievements.
